About Me

My Experience

I have bought and sold properties for myself and my former employer, Holy Trinity Parish, Lenexa, since 1989.

My extensive experience in remodeling dates back to 1983, including complete renovation of a 1923 stone house, 1970 home (our first home and now our rental), 1979 home (which I bought, renovated and sold) and our 1980 home which my family currently resides in in "The Cedars" subdivision.

Moreover, I was highly involved in all aspects of design, development, completion and upkeep of multiple new construction and renovations projects while at my previous workplace, totally over 200,000 square feet of space.

My Specialty

Don't let the suit fool you.  I LOVE to do remodeling, home improvement projects and carpentry!  No, seriously, I really do!!    I'd just assume be all dusty, dirty, and in my work jeans.  I have custom made and installed kitchen cabinets, furniture (sacred, for my church, personal and outdoor), sheds, patios, gardens, wood flooring (took out an old gym maple floor and installed it in my 1970 home) and much more.

I am also a huge softy when it comes to reclaiming old lumber and bringing it to new life.  Often, the quality of the old wood being discarded is better than the new wood it's being replaced with - it only LOOKS better because it's new.   In fact, I built my current 600 sq ft multi-level deck and wood furniture ENTIRELY from reclaimed cedar lumber.  Yes, this does takes a fair amount of extra work but the satisfaction of  knowing it's being re-purposed, it's free AND kept out of the landfill is most gratifying!

As a result, a car has never darkened the floor in my 2 car garage due to my tools and stuff.  It's well worth it - okay, maybe not as much in the winter.  I'm very blessed to have a VERY understanding and appreciative wife (well, at least most of the time)!
